Mountainside Lacrosse is dedicated to building a top lacrosse program in the metro league. We are committed to and integrated system where all levels of play will benefit from our top level coaches as they build systems and styles of play that can be built on over the years so that by the time your athlete tries out for varsity, they will already have all the knowledge and skills needed to compete at a top level. Introducing the coaching staff that will help build our top level lacrosse club.
Head Coach - Varsity Boys
Ryder hails from Eugene, OR. After a career at South Eugene High School, where he was a four year varsity starter, three year captain, and set schools records in saves, save percentage, and saves-per-game, Ryder went on to play two years at the University of Oregon, before transferring to Oregon State University. During his college career, Ryder transitioned from goalie to attack, eventually going on to become one of OSU's top five assist getters his senior year. Ryder currently coaches for Lacrosse Northwest, and plays transition for the Portland Voodoo, the Sr. B National Champions of the IBLA.
Womens Varsity Head Coach
Jason was born in Maryland, and has lived in Beaverton since 1994. He has been coaching girls lacrosse at the youth and high school level for the past 9 years. Jason returns after coaching Mountainside in it's inaugural season.
Jason has two daughters. He works as a physician assistant in children's heart surgery at Randall Children's Hospital. He enjoys the outdoors and plays coed lacrosse in his free time.
Womens Assistant Coach
Shawn comes with a long history of coaching boys and girls youth sports. He assisted with our womens program in the inaugural season. He returns again for the 2019 season and will work with our defensive teams.
Womens JV Head Coach
Abby was born and raised in Beaverton. She is currently a student in the School of Business at Portland State University. She has been playing lacrosse since middle school. Abby was an assistant JV coach at Beaverton High School for 3 years and assisted at Mountainside for its inaugural season. She returns as the head coach for JV in the 2019 season.
Head Coach- JV Boys
Hailing from Los Angeles, Daniel is a former D-III player for UDC and the new JV HC for Mountainside Lacrosse. With over a decade of playing experience, Danny has also coached at the high school and middle school level, and worked for 3D Lacrosse as well. New to the Portland area, Danny plays for the Portland Voodoo, and will be taking the reins of the Mavericks' offense for 2019 as well.
Varsity Assistant- Defense
A homegrown Oregon product, Jaren played his high school lacrosse at West Linn, before becoming a four-year defender for the Southern Oregon Raiders in the MCLA D-II. Having previously coached both lacrosse and basketball in the Portland area, Jaren comes into the program for 2019 to take charge of the Mavericks' defense. Jaren is also a special ed teacher for the BSD.
